My relationship with Ollie started back in March. I could not have asked for a better first date. Like most girls, I was all worried if he would call the next day. It took a couple of days, but a week and a half later, he out-did himself on our second date. After four hours of 6-8 feet barreling perfection, I was one happy and pooped chica. Could it get any better than THAT?!
We were getting hot-and-heavy a little too fast. I decided we needed to cool-off a little bit. Six months of cold turkey, Ollie gave me a ring. It was just as I had remembered: pure perfection. Like a moth to a flame, I could not stay away. In the span of four weeks, Ollie and I gave each other a run for our dinero. Four romps, each so mind-blowing-amazing.
If some of you are confused, my boyfriend’s name is Ollie and he is a wave. I know, I have certainly fallen off of my rocker, but at least I forewarned y’all that surfing has ruined my life. Plus, when a wave is as perfect as Ollie, you can’t help but get lost in its magic. (If y’all can’t remember my post on Ollie’s Point from back in April, click here to find out more about my boyfriend.) Needless to say, I have been a very lucky girl to have surfed Ollie’s quite a few times this year. Every trip up there is beautiful, amazing, but different in its own way.
The icing on the cake (pun intended) was my friend’s birthday trip this past Monday. I am not the type of gal to share her boyfriend, but sometimes you just have to spread the love. The trip was nothing but magical, from the beautiful sunrise over Flamingo, rainbows from the rain clouds in the distance, mating sea turtles and flying manta rays, princess crowns, BEAUTIFUL waves all to ourselves, giggling gaggle of girls, a gourmet feast for breakfast, snack, lunch and dessert, and the icing on the birthday cake was the pod of dolphins that put on a show for us on our trip home. Great friends, good fun.
‘Till next time amor…
Pura Vida,
Kristen
